We are excited to announce the launch of our latest initiative aimed at empowering military spouses in science, engineering, technology, and mathematics professions – the SMSS Professional Development Grants program!
At SMSS, we are dedicated to providing meaningful support and resources to military spouses pursuing careers in STEM fields. Through our various programs and initiatives, we strive to create opportunities for professional growth, networking, and advancement.
Building on the success of our current “Professional Headshots Grants” program, which provides members with financial support for high-quality headshots to enhance their professional profiles, we recognized the need to expand our offerings to further support the career development of our members.
The Professional Development Grants program is designed to provide financial assistance to members for a wide range of professional development activities, including but not limited to:
- Training workshops and conferences
- Certification programs
- Continuing education courses
- Professional memberships
- Skill-building resources
We understand the unique challenges faced by military spouses, including frequent relocations and limited access to traditional career advancement opportunities. That’s why we believe that investing in professional development is crucial for empowering military spouses to achieve their career goals, regardless of where their military journey takes them.
Through this new grant program, we aim to equip military spouses with the skills, knowledge, and resources they need to thrive in their STEM careers, while also fostering a supportive community of like-minded individuals who are dedicated to their success.
